Just purchased an apartment at Banque 88. First Saturday night here was unbearable and I am on the 10th floor. Will be contacting the owner this weekend if it is loud.

I can hear the music from inside my room with the windows closed and I live down the street at 283 City Rd. It is disturbing enough over here, but if I can hear it here, then I can only imagine how bad it is for closer residents. And yes, disruptive behaviour by patrons is unacceptable. Perhaps more policing could help? Fabric should be made to sound proof the building and ensure air-conditioning can cater for it at full capacity.

Shut it down. Drunk people and bottles everywhere. We live here, this is not the place for drunken violence. This is our residential area. For thousands of people in many residential buildings.

I am so glad to hear someone bring up with this serious matter. I moved in my current new apartment next to this pub more than a year ago and it has never ever able to sleep during weekends from 10pm - 5am, I have to rely on ear plug and moved my bed far away from the window. My apartment manager said nothing they can do.
And yes, noises, people screaming, shouting, broken glasses everywhere, cigarete butts, drunkenness, vomit, urine... who is responsible to clean the public area? and what are the potential consequences?
I am seeking the protection for each person and the heathy environment we are living.

We have already contacted city regarding this and the had a meeting with the owner of the club.
They promised to turn off some speakers and turn down the music. Nothing really changed after this but we got a number that we could call for complaints: 0402 136 116. When we tried calling once, it was turned off.
We then texted the owner Sean, who replied straight away and did turn the music and base down, so would highly recommend contacting him, when the music is too loud: 0422 292 247.
Keep a log of the noise and email the following details to [email protected] :
Date:
Time / Duration:
Type of noise (music, base, patrons etc)
Loudness (on a scale 1-10)
She has been very helpfull to try to resolve this issue.
Please call the number and email Shelly every Thursday and Saturday, then they MUST take action soon.

This noise has been going on since the building opened. It starts at 10pm and goes through to 4am and sometimes later. It is unbearable to sleep on a Friday and Saturday night. They have now moved to Thursday and Saturday nights. The smell coming from the back of the establishment is disgusting as it is from the patrons who pee in the alley. There is always broken glass as well. The main problem is the noise though. I understand the club has the right to play music but it is definitely above the allowed decible level. In summer they leave the doors open to there establishment and thats why the noise carries to the surrounding areas.
