No fur -- especially from China!
Please don't buy fur -- don't feedChina's fur trade.
Many animals on Chinese fur farms and fur markets are skinned while still alive. They struggle violently, in agony, while strung up or pinned down, with workers slicing into their skin and fur and then pulling the skin off their bodies as if pulling vacuum-wrap off a piece of meat. The animals are often still moving and breathing when their skinless bodies are flung on a heap of carcasses.
It sounds obscene -- because it is. There are NO laws protecting these animals, and not surprisingly, outsiders are often chased from these facilities.
Industry Canada stats show that 60%of all fur garments that enter Canada -- $12 million in trade annually-- come from China. Further, while the U.S., Australia and European Union have laws banning fur from cats and dogs, Canada has no fur restrictions at all,as long as the animal isn't endangered.
But the type of animal it isreally is irrelevant, because NO animal deserves to live and die like this.
By adding your name to this petition, you will be sending a respectful message to the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Canada, Mr. Zhang Junsai, that: a) Canadians are aware of the cruelty inflicted through China's fur trade. b) It is not acceptable. c) We will not buy any fur, andespecially furfrom China.
Please add your name and speak for those who can't. Thank you!
