Yes! Keep out franchises. But we denizens of small towns have to support independent businesses in order to keep them in business. That cool little shop will be gone if you never shop there.

Our homes and community serves as a refuge against the forces of Big Capitalism. They are among the last remnants of authentic, uncommodified living and need to be protected to preserve our sense of authentic self. We do not want franchises or formula businesses within our hamlet. There are plenty of other places to for them go where they may be wanted. Let them go there.

This is a most important issue which outcome would drastically change the nature of Palisadesfor the future. We agree wholeheartedly with the petition and will do whatever needs to be done to prevent obnoxious and unnecessary development from occurring here.
