AGAINST Tanglewood Events Center

After retirement in 2017, my husband and I relocated to Clemmons due to the health care needs of a family member. I was born and in coastal NC and we still own a few acres of land there, so we have lived and worked on a hobby farm and have nothing against agriculture or animals. However, I must add my voice to the dissent against an agricultural event center at Tanglewood Park. The two-lane road leading to the only open park entrance, as well as the dearth of sidewalks and bike lanes leading into the park already limit access to the facilities for some residents. An event center will contribute significantly to congestion and may increase traffic safety issues when entering the Park. Tanglewood Park is an amazingly beautiful and peaceful place for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy exercise and recreation, fellowship together, and spend time with nature. Twice a day nearly every day of the year, my husband and I find quiet places to walk our nervous, seizure-prone dog at Tanglewood Park. I am asking that you please not destroy the serenity of this park with an event center.

Tanglewood "Park" does not need an Event center, it is a park not a fair grounds. Who is going to want to walk around a huge building with dumpsters and parking lots right in the middle of the park. We walk there regularly and enjoy the quiet and the wildlife, also the horses. Don't even consider putting this monstrosity in the park, put it in the fairgrounds or somewhere that was not donated to the county to be a park for the public to enjoy.

This needs to stop. 1. It will cause greater flooding in Clemmons West. 2. It’s very large at 10 acres. 3. It will cut across two sides of the walking trail. 4. It will cause traffic issues in the park and on US158.

There are a great many uses for Tanglewood Park, but this is not a good option. Please do not make it an Events Center.

The park should be kept as natural as possible. The events center proposal is inconsistent.

We found this pristine, quiet and full of nature park just a few weeks ago. Our family moved to Winston a week ago. They were encouraged to use Tanglewood - only to find there is a plan to bring in too much traffic and lots of events. That is SAD.
