Please terminate the idea of all the proposed changes at Tanglewood Park. I would much rather see improvements to the existing facilities. I echo the thoughts of so many regarding past events and facilities that are no longer being used. Bring back the Steeplechase and beach events.

Tanglewood was built as a green space and a wildlife habitat for the citizens of Forsyth county to enjoy. The city of Winston-Salem owns and manages a large fairgrounds that includes two extra buildings that could easily house the events that the commissioners are proposing here. Tanglewood‘s infrastructure is not set up to hold an influx of visitors to the park such as those the commissioners envision. And to think that the park staff would run and manage all of the events is just ridiculous.

I am completely against project in every way. This facility is not a good idea for Tanglewood. We need to preserve the nice park that it is and consider the ramifications in total.

This facility will not enhance the beautiful Tanglewood property and will bring unwanted impact to a beautiful place.

An event center this close to the horse facilities would be horrible for the animals!

Why are we so concerned with building event centers to entertain and not worried about displacing wildlife, causing flooding (not to mention the damage and cost from that) and the stress to the existing surroundings. Tanglewood is so amazing because of its natural areas that it affords. Please leave it as is.

Traffic, personal safety and home values of residential areas bordering Tanglewood would all become issues. Commuters traveling South who need to avoid I40 already have a traffic nightmare on 158. Tanglewood invites peace, natural beauty, and a safe place for families. There is plenty of land outside of residential and small business communities that would accommodate an event center (think farm land that is advertised on I40). Why invade a sanctuary and create stress for those who need it?

Don’t ruin our natural grounds with more traffic and congestion!

Preserve our beautiful park. What you want to do is so very wrong on so many levels . Its Obvious you have not considered what is important. The peace and quiet that is Tanglewood. The people who live around the park. The noise. Traffic, storm water etc.

The proposed Event Center in Tanglewood Park would have a negative impact on the park itself and the Clemmons community - from noise, traffic volume, depreciated home values, and water run off, among other things. Tanglewood Park should be a place to enjoy nature, as it was intended when the land was given to the county, not to host things like concerts, tractor pulls, rodeos, or private events.

I’m against the proposed Tanglewood Agricultural Events Center as it backs up to an established neighborhood and the infrastructure is not designed for the influx of traffic. The flooding risk is also a huge concern. If this goes forward it would fly in the face of The Reynolds Family desires when the Park was bequeathed to Forsyth County.

Improve Tanglewood for recreational purposes, leave venue entertainment development to private industry. Private investors wouldn’t touch this negative ROI.

Keep Tanglewood quiet and peaceful. No events center.

I am saddened to hear that Tanglewood Park is being considered for this. For a place that doesn’t allow motorcycles to purposefully build an event center for loud-decibel events that isn’t needed as we already have the fair grounds is not what the tax payers voted for when we wanted to support improving the infrastructure of Tanglewood park.

This will have such a negative effect on our beautiful neighborhood!

This “development” really is not needed in Clemmons. It seems to have been secretly discussed without neighbors knowing. Traffic has gotten worse and worse without the possibility of a 50,000 square foot event center. We would never be able to get around with it here. Please reconsider not developing this center.

This project betrays the purpose of this county treasure and the voters who own nearby homes. To start this project during a time of skyrocketing inflation would demonstrate extraordinarily poor judgment and staggering hubris on the part of the County Commission. I am a registered Republican and I AM SICK TO DEATH OF BEING BETRAYED BY ELECTED REPUBLICANS AT EVERY LEVEL OF GOVERNMENT. I vote in most primaries and every election, and I will make it my mission in life to see to it that any Republican Commissioner that votes in favor of this project gets tossed - even if that means organizing, raising money and voting for a slate of Democrats. THE COUNTY COMMISSION NEEDS TO STOP TRYING TO BE REAL ESTATE DEVELOPERS - YOU'RE TERRIBLE AT IT - AND FOCUS ON THE ACTUAL JOBS WE ELECTED YOU FOR!
