Does Forsyth County view Clemmons as nothing but a western parking lot? Is the idea of a standing tree remaining in this part of the world offensive? Do you not see that nature’s beauty, quiet, grazing deer and floating butterflies and all the bluebirds, lazy walking horses, that these things are the stuff of a desirable place to live?! Not just “events” and strip malls. You’ve made Lewisville-Clemmons miles and miles of concrete and stores. Leave Tanglewood alone-leave one place where we can be free of materialism and noise and your lining your pockets.

When I first read about this in the paper last week, I was shocked and extremely saddened. I've been visiting Tanglewood for 35 years. I've been walking at Tanglewood several times a week since the walking trail was built. Tanglewood is my happy place. That's because it is beautiful, peaceful and serene. It calms me to walk there. To build the proposed event center near the barn area would destroy what this wonderful park is all about.

I highly oppose this proposal. It will negatively affect an increasing traffic problems, increase noise from concerts and big events, and take away from the few geeen spaces we have left in our area.

This is a VERY bad idea. It will ruin the serenity of Tanglewood Park, one of the major attractions to living in Clemmons. It will create more traffic on already congested roads. Access to the surrounding neighborhoods is seriously impacted during the Tanglewood Lights Festival and we don’t need an event center bringing in even more traffic!

Additionally the commissioners must consider the traffic consequences for residents whose neighborhoods are affected by this kind of decision. The Festival of Lights is bad enough as it is.

Tanglewood Park needs to be protected in all of its beauty. This type of event center has no place in Tanglewood Park and we as nearby homeowners have no desire for any more traffic! Put your event center in a place more suitable! Like the dixie classic fairground!

Public meetings need to be held about this plan. It may be that an event center of smaller scope and in a different place…perhaps that county land across from the Idols entrance to the park would be one place to consider.

NO. Put it in an area where less people live like Tobaccoville or King. This is RUINING a Green Area with cement, traffic, noise , more people, disruption to the very purpose of a park. Who even thinks this is a decent idea?? Bet they don't live in Clemmons West.

Ok Folks, now the county proposes to build a "white elephant " in the heart of our treasured, popular park! It matters not what the designers propose aesthetically, a building and the subsequently required parking lot will destroy natural habitat and will be an unnecessary distraction to those of us who regularly visit the park.
As for those who may attend an indoor event in the proposed facility, they could care less about the setting. They will pay their fee, park, go inside and enjoy their event and leave. Amazingly just like they could do at idle venues such as empty buildings at the fairgrounds!
I suppose if this project moves forward, the park benches adjacent to current walking trail, facing the proposed site, could be moved out to Highway 158, facing Harris-Teeter and their parking lot...
