PETITION IN OPPOSITION TO THE PROPOSED DOG PARK AT RILEY FIELD COMPLEX
NOW COME the undersigned residents of Bedford, New Hampshire and file this Petition in Opposition to the Proposed Dog Park at Riley Field with the Bedford Town Council stating as follows: 1. Riley Field is an inappropriate location for a dog park given the proximity of residential homes that will be impacted by the noise. Proponents of the dog park have failed to address the noise issue despite maintaining it is a top priority. 2. Riley Field should not be approved for use as a dog park because proponents have failed to address the collection and disposal of dog feces. 3. Riley Field is an inappropriate location for a dog park given the proximity of sporting events and children. 4. Riley Field should not be approved for use as a dog park because proponents have failed to demonstrate a plan to enforce proposed park rules. 5. Riley Field should not be approved for use as a dog park because proponents have failed to address the impact of dog feces on the wetlands. 6. Riley Field should not be approved for use as a dog park because proponents have drastically underestimated the financial costs to the town. WHEREFORE the undersigned residents respectfully request the Town Council reject Riley Field as a location for a possible dog park. March 29, 2011
