As you will know, one of the plans the Isle of Wight Council has for the existing St Marys Road car park is a sale to developers and the possibility of building a multi-storey car park on the site. While I concede that there is limited spaces available for cars visiting the town to park, building a multi-storey car park is not the solution. Cowes town centre is far too small to accommodate such a structure. Anyone who has ever parked in a multi-storey car park will be aware of what ugly, shadowy, dirty monstrosities they are. You can dress it up any number of ways -by calling it \'multi deck\', for example- but the results are the same; dreadful, urine smelling testimonies to the local planners lack of imagination and forethought. Please add your name to this petition so that it might be used to persuade the Isle of Wight Council planners to think more environmentally for the sake of the residents of Cowes and the visitors alike.
