We, the undersigned, ask all gay porn producers who currently use condoms to stop using them. Porn is about sexual fantasy, and condom usage detracts from the fantasies of the vast majority of gay men who buy and view porn.

We understand the history that led many producers to insist on condom usage, but times have changed, and with off-the-shelf rapid HIV testing now readily available at an affordable price, the risks are low enough that condom usage is no longer necessary. Additionally, with treatments such as PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) available there are times when even testing and serosorting may not be necessary.

Simply put circumstances have changed enough from the late 80s and early 90s that there is no longer a compelling reason to use condoms in porn. We urge all gay porn producers to go condom free. We believe the videos will be hotter and sell better as a result.
