The university has officially halted plans to close the Caribbean Studies department. My hands are shaking while typing this because the exhaustion is real but the relief is even greater. We will stay alert to ensure they keep this promise to protect our program.

The consideration alone is an absolute outrage as courses like these need more exposure to society for the benefits of distributing knowledge such as the origins of HUMAN RIGHTS! SIGN the petition NOW and stop the discussions for closure and start the discussions for improvement.

The administration is waiting for our energy to fade but we are nearly at two hundred and fifty signatures. I am drained by this fight yet refuse to quit while our history is at stake. Please send this link to two people who understand why this department must stay open.

KEEP IT OPEN. Students deserve to learn about this stuff.
The knowledge provided in this course is vital. You cant just erase this kind of history because of bad management.
This is honestly ridiculous. London Met is just throwing away its best history department for cheap budget cuts.
Disappointed in the university for even considering this. My cousin went there and said the department was the best part of the whole school.
Please dont do this. We need more diversity in our curriculum not less. This department is a huge asset to London Met.
