This man has been an inspiration and role model to many young students at mmu and I think he should be able to ride out this last year with them. I think he needs to be shown some respect from his employer that he have the ability to share this 50th with one last season.

Either provide reasoning and an explanation to the MMU community, or keep Mr. Jacobs as the coach

Phil has dedicated so much of his life to the MMU soccer program and the local community. I played for him back in the 90's and have the utmost respect for him as both a coach and a person. He always treated his players like they were his own kids and I can't imagine why he wouldn't be allowed to close out his career in a dignified manner with one more year at the helm.

1 more year. Phil has earned this. After sacrificing all these years to help mentor young men at MMU, This is a no-brainer. If sports are more than wins and losses, than now's your chance to prove it. Seems to me like there are other coaches at MMU you should be more concerned about getting rid of. Please consider letting this man close this chapter of his life on his terms.

Of all the coaches I have know throughout my coaching career, Phil is one that I would love to have my own boys play for. From my perspective it seems that Coach Jacobs has asked to coach one more season. For someone that has put so much into your soccer program over the past three decades, with positive results that can be measured in a number of ways, well beyond wins, losses, and championships, it seems to me that he should be granted this request. He has given 29 seasons of dedication to MMU, maybe the right thing to do is for you to give him one more......Randy Swainbank, Enosburg Soccer.
