Say no to Old Age Security Bill C-428 We the undersigned do not support the reduction of the residency requirement from 10 years to three years as proposed by Bill C-428. We believe the current requirement of ten years for Canadian citizens residing in Canada is sufficient. As an aging Canadian society, we need to be able to adequately take care of the needs of our own ageing population. We believe this Bill as proposed will encourage an influx of near aging immigrants that our current pension and health care system can not provide for. We ask our elected representatives to say NO to Bill C-428 SUMMARY This enactment amends the Old Age Security Act to reduce from ten years to three years the residency requirement for entitlement to a monthly pension.
