A planning application has been lodged with Hackney Council which will see the Prince George pub re-developed into a gastropub. The plans include a new timber awning in the front garden on Parkholme Road which will mask the beautiful portico. In addition a new second story is planned which will completely change the view from the street and character of Wilton Way. There is already one gastrobpub nearby and many local eatieries. Local residents don't need another one. We, the customers and local residents like the George the way it is and do not want its unique character and appearance compromised by these ill-conceived plans.
