eBay marketplace US has altered the search sort default from time ending soonest to best match. This change has resulted in severe economic damage eBay has manipulated the marketplace search returns eBay claims the new best match search antilogarithm is dependent on: A sellers 30 day DSR scores- below 4.5 lowered search status, below 4.7 standard search, & 4.7+ raised search A keyword formula where each chosen word a seller users either adds or subtracts from the point total which is a factor in where a listing will be placed in search returns Listings with free shipping The lowest priced listing among identical/similar items However, none of the above appear to influence the search result sort consistently, which suggests the best match sort is not functioning properly according to eBay's stated inputs. eBay's new search experience which involves additional inputs for the best match search results sort recent sales component - if a quantity listing has had previous sales that item will gain more search exposure new weight proportions relative to listing format auction/fixed All of eBay's search manipulations have and/or had various system errors which have harmed the financial stability of the small businesses on eBay and must stop. I think a court ordered injunction concerning the application of Best Match and the new search is necessary at least until eBay has performed successful pilot studies significantly reducing the negligent harm that eBay users have experienced from March 2008 through today September 22nd 2008 Sign the petition if you agree
