TAS changed my life by giving me a broader perspective of science and research. I found new enthusiasm for the subjects I teach, and the ones who benefit the most are my students. They see and experience the excitement and wonder of discovery for themselves in my classroom. Saving the TAS program is an investment in the education of our young people who will be the next generation to appreciate our planet and solve its problems.

TAS is a vital program that gives teachers an opportunity to participate in research and real science in a no-nonsense setting that is a life-changing experience. Being able to turn around and share all that with students is extremely valuable! Please restore funding for Teacher At Sea!!

NOAA's Teacher At Sea program has inspired and educated many students, teachers and informal educators through the years that it has been in operation. This program provides a unique form of professional development and STEM education to K - Gray audiences. The programs inclusion of all teachers allows STEM to be incorporated across school disciplines- include social studies, language arts and the fine arts. Please restore and maintain funding for this exceptional program.

Teacher at Sea is a hands-on, experiential learning experience for teachers. This program mutually benefits both teacher and researchers by allowing each the opportunity to see the other's job in a new light! This experience reawakened my love of learning and teaching and opened the door to other opportunities for me professionally. I was able to reach my most at- risk students with pictures and stories of my time aboard The Rainier. So few opportunities like this exist. Please continue your support of this exceptional learning experience.
