Blundell park relocation
The site is totally unsuitable for this development for the following reasons
• Traffic noise I live in edge avenue we can already hear the traffic on peaks parkway if the scheme is allowed to go ahead it can only mean more traffic and therefore more noise both on match days and with day to day traffic from the proposed retail & residential developments.
• Congestion the parkway was built to alleviate traffic congestion the proposed developments would only increase traffic congestion both on match days and with day to day traffic from the proposed retail & residential developments.
• Parking the scheme proposes parking for 2000 cars for a 14000 seated stadium where are the rest of the cars going to park (in the surrounding streets?)the fire station is in close proximity and response times will be compromised by the volume of traffic on match days.
• Pedestrian access with no rail link how are the fans arriving by train to get to the ground? by taxi bus or walk all of which will add to the congestion and disruption to local residents lives.
• Crowd noise the stadium will be in close proximity to Weelsby woods , people's park I for one do not want to sit in my garden or for that matter go for a walk in either of these amenities and listen to 14000 fans cheering at the top of their voices if I can here traffic from that distance then I will certainly be able to hear the crowd,
• Country side the stadium would be sited right next to a popular public footpath from Scartho to Weelsby woods it would also be a blot on the landscape visible to all for miles around,
• Allotments the scheme would involve the destruction of the allotments.
• There are more suitable sites for instance on the Euro park where there is good access to both rail and road links and the fans would be kept away from the town.
• The scheme would be in close proximity to st Andrews hospice, if I were visiting a terminally ill relative on a Saturday afternoon the

100% against this development plan for every reason already mentioned.
I think even the thought of plonking a football stadium remotely close to a cemetery is unbelievably disrespectful. My family have relatives buried at that cemetey and we thoroughly appreciate the peace and quiet the location benefits from at the moment. We do not want to visit the cemetery and hear football chants etc.

Not wanted, not needed, totally against. It will erode the gap between Grimsby and New Waltham, hugely increase traffic on an already nightmare road and make it unbearable for those visiting the crematorium.

Football stadium, McDonalds, Hotel,
Shopping Centre, Cinema, just a few
mentions planned for Weelsby Avenue.
The area is total unsuitable for the
planned development. We do not
need it. This would cause chaos,
be a blight on this lovely peaceful
area. It does not matter how many
promises are made to make the
plan sound better, it will simply not
work. The stadium needs to be
on the edge of town not moved
from one residential area to another. Please please find
another location and since Grimsby
have been out of league football
for 5 seasons, is it warranted??

Not only do I support this petition for the reasons mentioned, but also wish to draw attention to the traffic congestion such a development will cause where there is already congestion at peak times.

Grimsby Town football club is a business with full time professional players and paid employees. I should not, as a council tax payer, be compelled to subsidise this business just as I should not be asked to subsidise any other business. I don't pay council tax to subsidise other employers - such as supermarkets, manufacturing companies, and such businesses exist to provide a social good. No one can seriously argue that a professional football club, especially Grimsby Town, is a social good. After the disgraceful scenes of violence and thuggery involving Grimsby supporters at recent matches against Scunthorpe and Burton, the council should be absolutely ashamed of themselves not to have already completely rejected any proposal for a new ground. Is it too much to hope that after the scenes today at Gateshead the council will finally realise that any development supporting GTFC should be abandoned. How unfortunate that this town's only sporting hope is associated with a failing, poorly behaved football club and does not offer its young people the opportunity to participate and follow sports that uphold far higher standards of behaviour.

I feel it is totally insensitive at even the thought of placing football ground next to a crematorium and so close to a school and a built up area, also across Peaks parkway not more than 1/2 a mile away is the Hospice and a private Hospital, the last thing people who are receiving care or visiting relatives will want to hear is football supporters chanting and cheering. Totally no thought and so disrespectful to all the above mentioned
