We, the citizens of Cary, Illinois, formally object to the changing of the village zoning ordinance which would allow Meyer Material Co. to expand its mining operations into the village. We object to this proposal on the following grounds:
1. The proposal will bring an increase of dirt, dust and other particulates into our living spaces.
2. The proposal will bring an increase in noise and vibrations from machinery to our neighborhoods.
3. The proposal will lower the value of our property.
4. The proposal will bring increased traffic from trucks and heavy equipment, raising the overall pollution level in our community.
We feel that the creation of a new quarry near the Fox Trails subdivision will adversely affect the overall standard of living in our small community and neighborhoods and respectfully petition the Village\'s Board of Zoning, Planning and Appeals to reject the petition from Meyer Material Co.
The volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with the planning department later this week. I am currently preparing the documentation to present our objections regarding traffic and air quality hazards in front of the board.
