NO ZOOM DAYS at MUAA
This petition is to bring awareness to the challenges of virtual learning for 8 hours a day,5 days a week. Students speak out daily about how tiring and draining it has become to be present and attentive in class. Enduring 80 minute classes with only a 10 minute break in between, if the teacher does not go over time, has taken a toll on the students' eyes and the ability to stay on task during these academic class sessions.
In today's society, employers offer their staff a few days a year that they can claim as "mental health" days. A mental health day is simply a day off that is specifically and strategically geared toward stress relief. While one day off may not by itself cure burnout, a mental health day can definitely provide you with a much-needed (and well-deserved) break.
This petition is to request from the Administrators and School Board that students be given an opportunity to take a digital device break. Students can see this as a form of a mental health day. The request is simple, that one of the following options be granted for the academic, mental, and physical health of the students.
Options 1: One designated day a week, Monday through Thursday, students access and complete assignments without logging into classes via the learning platform ZOOM for face to face instruction.
Option 2: One designated day, every other week, students access and complete assignments without logging into classes via the learning platform ZOOM for face to face instruction.
Option 3: One designated day, a month students access and complete assignments without logging into classes via the learning platform ZOOM for face to face instruction.
If you agree with all or even one of these options please sign our petition.
