The Town of Lake Park boasts of its picturesque qualities and idyllic small town feel nestled close to the ocean all of which is described in the Town's marketing video on its websites homepage. Municipalities such as Royal Palm Beach, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Weston, Sunrise and a host of others are home to some of the largest auto dealers in South Florida. These auto malls were erected on parcels that are within close proximity to the Turnpike, I-95, I-75, US 441 and can handle the daily and nightly commute of car carriers, auto parts deliveries, tow trucks as well as current and potential customers. Unlike portions of North, Central and South County, Federal Highway in Lake Park is one block from the intracoastal. Why would community leaders want to mar the. coastal landscape and diminish the efforts put forth in redeveloping Kelsey Park and the Lake Park Marina? You cannot deny that Earl Stewart has been an icon here however, Federal Highway is no longer the commercial corridor it once was in its hay day. With the emerging growth and population this county has witnessed, Federal Highway was literally abandoned for the development of six lane, east-west connecting roads that allowed for the move to bigger and better shopping experiences. From an urban planning perspective, our community leaders should seek alternative ways to improve the U.S. 1 corridor in Lake Park. Building a mega car dealership is not the answer. You will not see this type of development on Federal Highway in North Palm Beach, Juno Beach and Jupiter. Why would we want to be any different? Cities with a history of financial woes aren't enticing car dealers to build similar structures on their sections of Federal Highway. With so much to gain here in Lake Park why would the Town jeapordize its quality of life and destroy the laid back setting that it is trying to convey? People come to coastal or waterfront communities in Florida to enjoy the amenities they have to offer. Property

he's big enough...let him open a location somewhere else not in our beautiful residential neighborhood. I bike and walk everyday through here...dont'want the extra traffic or noise. NO TO EARL STEWART EXPANSION

Another blight in a developing neighborhood about to blossom. Only good for the dealer. Will provide no further jobs or income to the area. Completely out of the ordinary to build a multi story parking facility to accommodate the desires of one business showing no concern for the neighborhood in which it will raise its ugly countenance.
I live in Bay Reach and feel this will have a detrimental effect on our lovely development.

As a property owner living just across from the dealership I think this plan is crossing the line. The residents of Lake Park and the Al Stewart dealership have coexisted just fine until now but this new plan is out of control and inconsiderate to residents living near by.
