No infrastructure in place to handle this amount off new homes. Need to extend / replace current schools to accommodate upgrade roads etc.

The infrastructure and resources are already stretched to the limit there isn’t adequate facilities to facilitate another 600 families. The promises made by the builders of Calderwood to contribute towards an extension of the school etc must be fulfilled before the council even considers approving planning permission for any more houses

East Calder has always been a lovely village, its is losing its character and becoming a great big built up housing area with not enough facilities to cope with the growing population, the roads are already bad enough. Leave it be.

East Calder / Mid Calder roads cannot cope with more traffic. A71 cannot cope now and will not with even more traffic. East Calder Medical Practice cannot handle more patients. What about the family of deer I see every morning. No more house should be built..

Save the wildlife.. save the trees... save our village!! This is a lovely village ! Do not make it a town! We do not need any more Traffic pollution and the sewage works can't cope as it is! Schools are chocka.doctors surgery waiting times are a joke as it is!all this so Someone's pockets get lined and we get left with all the problems! No thanks!!!

East Calder does not need anymore housing , nor does MidCalder keep this space open for wildlife , doctors, schools roads are bursting already so NO thanks from me

East Calder's infrastructure can not cope with the additional traffic. Village becoming too large, all green space disappearing. No thank you to more houses.

East Calder’s infrastructure cannot cope with more of everything it is creeking at the seams. The extra traffic would bring the village to a stand still. The council must stop this NOW. The villagers of East Calder need to be heard.

Major concerns surrounding this development including lack of infrastructure to support it, is the ground actually safe to build on seeingvas part of it has mining shafts underneath it , it also contravenes policy in relation to not joining villages together

It would be tragic to see many great and old Yew trees be cut down, repopulating deer having their tracks cut off in one go, to know that the next generation will not experience this wonderful and recovering native Scottish woodland. The new development will sit adjacent Calder wood which is a Site of Scientific Interest while eating into Almondell country park. Why are we demolishing what little regenerating woodland we have left to only increase an already overloaded GP, small, outdated road system and primary Schools. Lots of new houses without the new infrastructure and land planning to complement the proposal. Mid Calder wasn't built to handle any more traffic then it is already receiving. Putting the housing so close to the sewage plant is unheard of when the plant was very clearly designed to be away from housing, out of sight and smelling range. Project needs more funding and much better management.
