The continual rate rises on a YEARLY basis is beyond ridiculous, especially with the 'missing money' fiasco, councilor wage rises, & completely inadequate management of the shire of Wyndham & Kununurra

22% last yr and they said it would be 5%. The president is a liar and the other 4 have self interest . Time to get rid of them. No more increases, stop ripping off the ratepayers and making good people leave.

The members proposing the highest rate rises in the state of Western Australia need a wake up call. The council faction of Parker, Bolto, Perry, Cooke, and Robinson are hiding under the skirts of administration using poorly aligned governance statutes (strategic rating policy, the corporate business plan and the strategic community plan) developed by ignoring community concerns.
The President is a strong supporter of the old council and thus rate rises.
No direction could cure the apprehension of bias that protects these councillors.
I say resign and let someone community focussed step up!
Exhorbitant and increasing rates to sectors that can least afford the rises is devastating a struggling community.

We pay around $5000 in rates a year and have no sewer or water services! Bin services only just came this year and we are expected to pay extra for it! I would prefer the shire to manage its cost problems better instead of passing the buck!

For the rates we are charged one would expect to be able to at least have a footpath, adequate street lighting and curb side pickup of green waste throughout the town.
