As a parent I am my child's named person and the government of Scotland has no right to deminish that

Why not just cut to the chase and take all children into care? I didn't think I could be shocked any longer by the authoritarian instincts of today's politicians. Obviously I was wrong.

Ridiculous law.Identify and help vulnerable children. It's an ominous sign of the future-the state believing it has this right.

Children already have someone to look after them - their parents. This law would effectively remove responsibility for children away from parents.

The Stepford Parliament has failed the families of Scotland. It's all about Getting Information Recorded For Every Citizen and interfering with families to ensure children meet state dictated outcomes.

This is taking the Nanny State to a whole new level. I have serious misgivings about this nonsense.

This will be a total waste of money and an added responsibility for named persons. The logistics of applying this have not been fully considered. It is taking responsibility away from parents.Spend the money on teaching parenting skills!

Read Stuart Walton's article in th e Sunday Herald where amonbg many good points he observes that in 'recent years the problem has not been that professionals did not know that there was something wrong, it was that the professionals who did know did not do enough about it'. All this proposed Bill will do is introduce more 'professionals' who may still not poool information that may be available.

I find it extremely embarrasing that such a Bill even got through the first stage never mind being passed

I think the danger was summed up in Aileen Campbell's Children's Minister) comment - "Parents have a role too". !!!

I am astounded at the passing of this bill without one vote against it from our MSP's. Are we supposed to take comfort from the fact that parent WILL ALSO have a role for looking after their children. I am embarrassed by the lack of common sense and lack of joined up thinking shown by our politicians. I will be voting no to a totalitarian state on 18th September.

Again an ill thought out, poorly drafted law. Another step closer to the police state Scottish independence would bring.
