I have been a satisfied customer of the World Bank gym from the first day it opened. I see no reason for change in staffing and managment.

Reviewing ways for raising the cost effectiveness of the Fitness Center is a legitimate activity. However, the quality of professional instructors in the current center is second to none, and no outsourced company can contribute to ensuring the wellbeing of WBG staff they way they do. The volunteer instructors also contribute massively to containing costs, and they provide a great service. The Fitness Center is exceptionally well managed, and the instructors take strong interest in members needs, devoting special attention when a staff member is addressing a specific physical fitness issue. No outside, anonymous company will be able to provide this level of service. By all means, look at cost cutting, and options for keeping the in-house approach; but please do not try to fix a service that is not only not broken, but provides exceptional service to the WBG community.

The health and well-being of World Bank colleagues is a concern to me. The subsidy element that is currently part of the gym is an expression of the Bank Group's concern for its employees. It should continue.

Find other ways to save money, don't replace dedicated staff volunteers.

Leave the gym alone, this is the only place we can remove our stress! Remove all the cafeteria's from the World Bank first, how will outsourcing save money honestly! Please concentrate on more important things.

We need to balance cost saving with maintaining service quality. The Bank gym's cosy and family-like environment has saved hundreds of thousands of dollars to the institution in reducing sick days and keeping staff healthy and productive. Don't break it!

This is a very diverse culture with trainers knowing the groups and individuals. They are in tune to our needs and have worked hard to entice females in particular, into a comfortable enviroment that allows them to build their fitness, in a safe cultural environment.
