I am against outsourcing of the WB's gym as I believe the quality will suffer. The current staff are excellent and are doing a great job. We should keep things as is, especially that some of the staff are volunteers. I am also afraid that the quality will suffer and price will increase.

The existing fitness center staff are excellent. I've never encountered more friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable staff. The quality of service would likely deteriorate sharply if we were to outsource. It is also likely that the turnover of staff would increase substantially. With this said, I understand that the rationale to outsource is cost savings, and that accepting a lower quality of service is something that GSD may be prepared to accept. However, as very few of the fitness staff are actually WBG staff members (i.e. most fitness staff are already consultants), it is hard to believe that the actual cost savings would be substantial. Taking into account that many fitness class instructors who currently volunteer will cease to volunteer for a contracted company, the additional cost of hiring instructors may actually negate much of the anticipated cost savings. For these reasons, I am opposed to the outsourcing proposal. We would almost certainly end up with a much lower quality of service, and reap little financial gain in return.

It is good for staff's morale to have a gym that is reasonable and so convenient

With staff volunteers, I agree, it would be a lot more expensive to outsourse and definitely the quality will suffer.

So many staff volunteer to teach, it would be more expensive to pay external instructors for all these classes that we have

One of the best facilities and staff I have come across. Personal, friendly and dedicated professionals. Shame to risk that!

You know what keeps me coming to the gym bright and early in the morning? Everyone knows my name and they know if I'm not there. Where else can you get that kind of personal attention? We have a fabulous and dedicated team at the WB Fitness Center. It would be the staff's loss if this team were replaced.

I have been a regular member of the Fitness center since 1990. I can't imagine that someone has thought about the idea of changing the atmosphere of the one place in the bank - our Fitness Center- where we go to keep our stress levels down!! This alone is a huge cost savings to the bank. Mike and his staff have transformed the quality of service and continuously provide us with high level programs. Those who are advocating outsourcing, should come and join the center, and they will understand why outsourcing is a definite NO! NO!

This appears to be a case of "penny wise but pound foolish". I doubt whether there is an enormous amount to be saved from outsourcing the fitness centre and, while I understand that a large number of small cuts can lead to large aggregate savings, management should also be aware of the negative impact on morale of a "death by a thousand cuts".

I am a better employee because I frequently go to the gym (four to five times a week). I am a better employee, because I bring energy, less stress, an ability to think clearly and overall a positive attitude to my job. I am rarely sick. I go to the gym because of the instructors and the management of the gym. They are a part of the Banks’ family and I trust their ability to make my experience worthwhile.

Fully agree with comments that have been made to date. We have an awsome staff at the gym, sense of family community and our special needs as WBG employees. As the WBG cares about staff well being we are better served if we do not outsource gym services. these guys are awsome , extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

I completely agree - please let us not change anything with the gym. Our instructors are exceptionally talented and difficult to replace.

Do not agree for outsourcing the gym. It would be a disaster, the Bank has already gone through this experence in the past.
