West Cobb is becoming unliveable. The roads and schools need to catch up to all the growth before any more growth is even considered. We need a moratorium on re-zoning.

Kerley Homes has bought up my old friend's land who is since deceased and his neighbor's adjoining land on Acworth Due West to build on. For years I bow hunted and enjoyed that forest. Now some greedy builder wants to destroy that wildlife corridor and historical land from the Union Advance on Kennesaw and Pine Mountains during the Civil War to build homes for yuppies from somewhere else other than Kennesaw. Commissioners are bought off by wealthy developers and their powerful attorneys. GREED,

WE ARE OVERDEVELOPED! Quit destroying what is left of wooded NW Cobb. Im tired of seeing every tract of woods I knew growing up as a kid and the area my family has been in for 100s of years being wiped out to attract a bunch of yankees to come buy houses here. WE DON'T NEED MORE GROWTH. HAVE YOU BEEN ON STILESBORO RD LATELY? I CANT EVEN TURN IN MY OWN DRIVEWAY FROM 4-6 PM BECAUSE OF THE TRAFFIC THAT THE ROADS CANT HANDLE BACKED UP FROM THE 4 WAY STOP! YOU GREEDY BASTARDS! KENNESAW DOESN'T WANT YOU!

The voters spoke when they voted for green space - this goes beyond the parks but living within the Land Use Agreement we have with the Cobb County government. There remains a great deal of land around that has been (semi) developed and abandoned.... shameful mess that should be addressed before we start to cut corners and do an end-run around current zoning.

Please do NOT approve Z-114. The roads are becoming impassible, all of Cobb Cty school system is over capacity, and yet we keep approving zoning requests THAT ONLY BENEFIT THE DEVELOPERS/BUILDERS. Our quality of life in West Cobb is going away thanks to all this over-development. It's hurting the tax payer citizens to benefit the builders. Please do not approve this at 108 homes. Per your staff, 72 homes could be built and would be supported by the community. We don't say "no" to the development just NO to the overage that continually is being approved by the commissioners.

BOC, there is way too much unnecessary development happening in West Cobb. When is it going to end? Our traffic is HORRIBLE and our schools are overcrowded. Why ask for our input on future zoning maps, parks, and greenspace if you are just going to ignore what we say? PLEASE stop approving all these rezonings and let the residents of West Cobb keep what we moved here for, more room and more green space.

Dear Planning Commissioners,
I am writing you to vehemently oppose the Z-114 request to rezone the 68 acres bordering our subdivision of Sweet Pine Creek.
When we purchased our home we reviewed the zoning of the neighboring subdivisions and the fact that there were no high density lot was a key factor in our decision to purchase our home.
It seems to me that, other than the short term gain for the developer, there is not a single reason why supporting such proposal would be a good thing.
First, allowing the buildout of a gloat of small, crowded homes will surely depress the values of the properties of those residents who live and committed to living in this area in the past. Home values are barely starting to inch towards pre-recession values, and it is unclear why the Commission should support a value destruction of so many people’s primary source of equity and wealth.
Second, the economy is recovering and unemployment level is very low, so there is no need to lower standards to promote economic sustainability. Builders should be able to build and sell inventory at the pre-approved R-30 zoning.
Third, I just came back from my daughter’s school PTA meeting, where much time was devoted to explain that funding from home taxes is insufficient to sustain the investment needed in the local school system and that also with SPLOST there are no funds allocated to build long term infrastructure in the schools district where we reside. So how is increasing population at 3x the density of the current zoning going to impact the local roads and the local schools since there are no funds of significance to right-size the infrastructure to meet these expanded needs?
In summary, the rezoning of the 65 acres between Bob Fleming Road, Dallas Highway and County Road would have serious negative effects on the families that chose this area of West Cobb as our community and would not offer significant benefits, hence I exhort you to reject this ill-conceived Z-114 request.

Why do you ask citizens to attend planning meetings and then ignore the plans as set out? Traffic congestion and safety is not improving. Allowing more homes than currently planned is only going to add to the traffic grid lock we now experience. Next to this property is park land. When this park is complete you will have even more traffic on Dallas Hwy and Midway Rd. I welcome you to come out and drive around with me late afternoon/early evening. Future development has to be sensitive to the traffic issues we are experiencing now. Approval of Z-114 should be denied. Build per the existing codes,grid lock is here!
