As many of the suffolk residents know Nowton park is one of our FREE parks in bury st edmunds, it has a fab play area for children and nice walks. This park has been free to park for as long as i remember, until now.. Since the council decided to build the new "cafe" and toilets they are now also going to be charging £2 per visit to park your car, Double yellow lines have been painted all outside the park to prevent parking outside also. Please sign this petition so i can forward this on to the council and the local newspaper in the hope that we can make a difference and keep our park free

It is disgraceful having to pay seeing as it was given to the people of bury to enjoy.

Rather than trying to generate more revenue from the people of Bury through car parking charges (we already pay through our council tax) why not stop waisting money on ridiculous metal trees that service no purpose, are easily damaged (both have been hit) and are already rusting! The cost of these trees could allow 10000 people to visit nowton park for free, bring in 10000 more people into Bury. We should be proud of our green spaces, not extort as much money as we can from them.

This is just another way for them to bleed us dry. We pay enough tax already and a local park should be for everyone not just people who can afford to pay for a daily pass. Absolutely ridiculous.
