The club has confirmed that Michael Owen will not be taking that ambassador role. I am honestly stunned that this reached so many people and it is entirely because you chose to speak up. We should keep an eye on things from here but for now please just take a …

Please sign to show your support in stopping Michael Owen beening named Liverpool’s first official international ambassador

He joined Man united and in doing that he threw away his Liverpool legacy and stuck 2 fingers up to the club and its supporters he is a turn coat and should not be given a job to work for our great club OWEN OUT!!!

FSG and the American owners should be ashamed bringing him back to our club this is a slap in the face to us the supporters

Please sign and share this to every true red you know, Many thanks for your support YNWA JFT9

I never imagined this would reach 2,500 signatures when I started it. This entire response is down to your passion for the club rather than anything I did. I am honestly just humbled to see so many people who feel this same way.

Just when you think the club is getting it's act together, they come up with a stupid announcement like this? Demonstrating a clear dis-connect with who matters the most- the fans! Sack him. Move on. Mistake made, just like the season tickets. FFS.

I have no personal animosity to Owen but he preferred England to Liverpool, then preferred Madrid to Liverpool, then when Rafa wanted him back he preferred Newcastle. And he finished up at United. He is not fitted to represent Liverpool.

I appreciate his contribution to the club but... no. JUST NO. He turned his back on and joined our biggest rival, and spoke lack of respect about LFC. Most of our fans don‘t like him. How can he help promoting the club if he‘s not popular among the fans?

Don't want a player with a utd connection who did nothing but slate us when in commentary - but now we are slowly turning the corner he sees an opportunity to jump back on board. No thanks we have many ex players worldwide who love our club who fit the role.

Don't want Micgael Owen in this role as he hasn't done anything to deserve it. Look to the legends like John Aldridge, Jason Mcateer, Any other Liverpool legends. Michael Owen is dispised because of him going to Liverpools arch Ricals Man United.

This should not happen. I consider this a slap in the face. Micheal decided to burn his bridges when he signed for Man U. He knew then and knows now that he lost all support of Liverpool fans. Please do not allow this to happen.

Turncoat never should he be associated with our club we don't accept Man Utd Rejects - Once a Red always a Red - Many more deserve the title as Amabassdar

There are better ex players than an ex man united player to represent our club
