Don't ruin what makes Siesta Key the best beach and place to live. Control overdevelopment and empower locals who actually live here.

We need to preserve the key and stop commercializing it, it has already been ruined by greed. Let’s preserve what’s left of our beautiful Siesta Key. Us locals can no longer enjoy it because we can’t get to it with the crowds of visitors.

As a long time owner, on Siesta Key, I am dismayed at the potential of three hotels ON the island. We must not forget the Promenade Project, on the corner of US-41 and Stickney Point Road! That project will have 130 hotel rooms, 430 condominiums, 133,000 square feet of commercial space, and 7,000 square feet of Office Space!! Do NOT be fooled into thinking that this area will only be business residents..... Siesta Key has a vibe that cannot be replicated. If anyone wanted to vacation in a “concrete jungle” there are many beach side cities within the state of Florida, that will meet that need. The hotels ON the key will ruin that vibe. The traffic, from all FOUR properties will ruin the vibe of our precious Siesta Key!

Keep Siesta Key as it is. Since over 35 years we saw too may development, don't let it become Miami, Fort Lauderdale. We don't want that.

Siesta Key property owners want our elected officials to maintain the regulations that exist. Please do NOT allow exemptions for building height, accommodation density, or beach expansion. Other developers will use these exceptions as justification for additional mass development. Please help to maintain our unique island vibe. If you allow exceptions, Siesta Key will become a replica of Clearwater, Fort Lauderdale, or Miami.
