I believe one of the reasons for cashless tolls was to prevent idling at the toll booths. these people will be idling their trucks in our back yards.

I vehemently
oppose a truck stop in the island . It would bring pollution, noise, disrupt wildlife and ruin a large tract of green space. This is a TERRIBLE idea for our island!!!

Grand Island is a small family community that values the green space we have left. We have no need of a truck stop-our proximity is valuable, understood, but not to be taken advantage of. A truck stop would diminish the quality of life that islanders have worked tirelessly to maintain.

I’m concerned about the pollution from the trucks sitting there running and the added sound. I don’t live close to the thruway now but can hear the traffic on it on a quiet night. I think trucks sitting there and leaving from there will add to it.

We've worked hard to remove the tolls as part of our pursuit of cleaner air ... a truck stop would be taking us back even further! Absolutely not here on our beautiful island. Put it in Niagara Falls - it's only a few minutes drive away.
