2 days a week in person is not enough. Our high school students are falling behind the surrounding districts. If I felt it was in my child’s best interest to teach herself, we would have just done home school.

The kids need to be back in school. Trying to learn the material on a self guided approach is not working. Student need face time and live instruction with teachers.

Surrounding district high schools are back at school full time. My kid is having to teach herself geometry and chemistry. It’s time to go back to normal.

The Plano school district is supposed to be a district of excellence. We’re not leading anymore. We’re barely getting by by the skin of our teeth. Apparently Supt. Binder needs to get in co tact with these other superintendents and see how they’re handling being back to school everyday. Our high schoolers are going to be so far behind.

My daughter is falling behind and needs more time in class and with her friends. This is not preparing them for what they need to know for college testing and college.

Our high school students need to be able to go back to school 5 days a week. The isolation is taking an emotional toll on many of these teenagers. Emotional health for our students should be held as equally important as physical health by the PISD board. Several board members do not have children in the PISD system and are out of touch on what’s going on here at ground level of this educational crisis.

My child is suffering! These kids need to have the option to attend school 5 days a week! She is not getting the education she deserves, the education she is promised, and the education I pay for! High school students need equal education and equal access!

Yes! High schoolers need to be back in the school five days a week. If they can play football, they can be in class. Some seem to be async. even though they are in the school- that doesn't cut it either.

2 days a week is not enough. You have drill team meetings mandatory face to face 4 days a week. How can you tell my virtual learning child that she needs to be face to face or else she will be kicked off the team???? Yet then tell her you can only be educated in person 2 days a week. Where is the grace and flexibility? If sports can be mandatory f2f, then education needs to be as well.

I would like point out that Frisco, Mckinney, Allen, Prosper, Wylie, and Highland Park are allowing five days a week, face to face teaching for students.

F2F needs to be genuine, interactive teaching and engaging with the students. Students in classrooms just working on their chrome books doesn’t cut it. If you choose remote, it will be different for your student, end of story.

If parents want online experiences for their kids, there are lots of options, even free, out there. Schools need to be focusing on students in person. Also if parents are nervous about their kids being in school, then why are they not nervous about them being in football or band or any other extracurricular? I think that students should only be allowed to do extracurricular activities they are in school face-to-face. Maybe it would encourage some to come back!!
