I started this because I felt alone in my concerns but so many of you have reached out to share how you feel too. It is humbling to realize how many people are actually paying attention to what is happening locally.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have joined this effort since I started it. This momentum belongs entirely to you because I never imagined the response would grow this quickly.

Firstly the Islamic Religion is not evil however I would prefer to eat non Halal chicken at Nandos.
I often work in Muslim countries and have many Muslim friends and as a result eat Halal food on a frequent basis.
However my preference when in the UK, owing to animal welfare issues, is to eat non Halal food.
If Nandos or any other restaurant in Darlington could give a choice then that would assist all.

I'm not against this or any religion, each to their own. I am against unnecessary suffering of animals in the name of ... Religion? Christians no longer slaughter lambs ... It is OUT OF DATE

I don't think slating the religion is a good rational for stopping halal. Pretty uneducated, however my opinion is a made up story book believed by billions promotes the suffering of an innocent animal is pretty pathetic. It's wierd in this day and age a country would allow it? How peculiar
