Higher density also adversely affects the environment. It creates more trash, traffic and more of the natural landscape is destroyed.

Environmental, physical and social concerns about this proposal. It will only add to the above stresses put on Siesta Key, especially during high season.

There's something intriguing about a small beach community. Sarasota was not built for the traffic this would bring. It can hardly keep up with what it has during season. The additional stress it would put on the infrastructure, sewage, streets & parking would be devastating. Let the developer's stay on the East coast they have already ruined.

We love siesta key because it doesn’t have big hotels! It will ruin the small town feel it has and it will become too commercial. Please don’t add big hotels!!

It's obvious to anyone that Siesta is bursting at the seems,so MORE development will = more traffic. The islands roads weren't built for that and just wont take it,hence the daily gridlock. Regarding the change of building code...why.? Rules are rules and those in place work OK so why is there a NEED to change them ? Just to satisfy/ placate GREEDY $$$ developers ? Plus, whilst parking at the beach was extended recently there still isn't enough ! Parking in the Village in particular continues to be inadequate in consideration of the volume of visitors that wish to visit .Like I say, The Island is full to bursting - so NO MORE HIGH RISE DEVELOPMENT. It's about time the authorities gave the RESIDENTS of Siesta Key some consideration so they are able to conduct their daily lives with considerably LESS inconvenience.I hear that Wells Fargo on Midnight Pass Rd (my branch) is to close to allow for a hotel/restaurant. For god's sake ! If Siesta were a football stadium or a concert venue you could only sell so many tickets till it's full ? That's where we are now with Siesta - the system is broken and anymore expansion will fracture the infrastructure such as roads, parking, drainage, ease of access etc beyond how much it is inadequate already.....
And let's not even get started on health and safety for fire and ambulance crew access ,huh ?

Please don’t turn this beautiful island into a place of only high towers. This used to be the most beautiful beach in the world, it is not like that any more due to all of these people coming in who just don’t care about nature. They’re trashing the beaches. You must consider the traffic! This island does not have the ability to handle the extra traffic that these huge structures will bring in! It already takes forever during tourist season to get off the island! I can’t even imagine what will happen when these huge buildings go in, and all of the extra truck traffic it will bring!
