After moving here last fall we purchased our very first Compo Beach pass and after less than 3 Times going we knew we would not purchase another pass. The beach was dirty, staff was no where to be found, bathrooms and showers were not in working condition and gross. With the extreme rate increase you will be lucky to have any Weston residents contribute to any future renovations and improvements to the beach. Enjoy your dirty beach!

It is no longer economically viable to buy a beach pass (wasn’t even really last year). That with the negative comments towards westonite, which I found very dismaying has sealed my decision. The methodology for the decision is failed and short-sighted.

I’ve only lived in Weston for a year and a half. I bought a pass last summer but was honestly a little disappointed in the area. It was dirty, littered, and more than once I had to tell my two year old that the way the other kids were behaving was not good behavior. Not going to waste my money this year.

Keep this list handy, so after the summer is over and the beach was still crowded, westport will realize it wasn’t weston.

Westonites should not incur a disproportionate burden to subsidize needed improvements. Westport p and r should realize the large amount of funds weston as a town have contributed, yet those residents seem to rarely utilize the beach area. Overcrowding and “unsavory behavior” is not a product of Weston residents, and the punitive burden should not be placed on those who purchase the emblem.
It will push out those Westonites who do not contribute to the problems there, yet support westport financially. This will surely hurt westport’s bottom line, shooting themselves in the foot.

We were planning to buy two this year for both my car and my daughter’s but will now probably go to Fairfield and just Uber when we want to go to Compo!

We will be going to other beaches in the area - I cannot believe the increase this year - and some of the commentary to go with it online has been disappointing . Compo was at best "nice" but I'm hoping this hefty increase in pass price will give us the opportunity to explore beaches in the area we would not have normally gone to.

My family has been coming to Compo for over 15 years, we’re very disappointed by this. Clearly Westonites are no longer welcome.

Ridiculous and discriminatory action on Westport’s part. I’ll do all of my dining and shopping in Norwalk, Fairfield and Wilton

Price increase is too much for the handful of evenings at the beach (all we ever used it for). Will enjoy Fairfield sunsets this year.

Rarely used my pass the past two years...doubt my usage would change this year so there's no way I'm paying more for it.

$375 is way too much for occasional beach usage.

I bought a pass last year, but will not buy one again for the summer 2018 season because of the cost increase. I will use Fairfield beaches instead of Compo.

Echoing the comment that Compo has been filthy since we moved here in 2001.
Moving on - many other beaches and shops in this area.

We purchased passes all of the 4 years we've lived here, and I don't think we ever broke even on the pass. I won't pay $375 to go maybe 4 times for an hour or two. We really enjoyed going in the early am for a picnic breakfast or for lunch at Joeys on a weekday. I considered just buying a day pass if needed, but I'm not hauling three kids under 3.5 years old across the parking lot from the far side where you will undoubtedly have outsiders park, when the whole place is empty at 9am.

Compo is one of the reasons we moved to the area and we have bought passes each of the 6 summers we will be here. This huge increase is just too high to be reasonable. Our pass fee and. $ spent at joeys will be put to better use somewhere else this summer sadly.
