Say NO to the "Swim with the Tuna" experience at Victor Harbor, say NO to aquaculture on the Fleurieu.

I question the business model and viability of this business venture! Who want's to pay $100 per adult or $250 for family of four to see a few tuna's bumping into each other?

I certainly believe it will attract sharks. Big companies seem to get everything they want. Let the people of Victor Harbor keep their beaches safe for their children.

This is a no go for Encounter Bay. I've never heard of anything so dumb and stupid for this area and utterly neglectful. The amount of children sailing this area, competitive sailing on weekends, surfing, canoeing and diving, aquatics for schools and children, this is utterly irresponsible. I know for a fact, Great Whites often break into these pens and have to be retrieved out and at times die inside these pens. Damage to the environment by the tuna kept in this matter is unacceptable. This is a risk to too many areas to be acceptable

There are good reasons that this concept has not worked elsewhere and is not being accepted by other towns. Lets keep our three surf life saving clubs safe and not create more more for volunteers. Are the developers of this initative going to fund any call outs or rescues related to the facility?

I cannot see this being a success for anyone concerned.. Our coast deserves better.

It would just become a huge eye saw and unvalue the view of our beautiful bay. Also i would hate to think they would bring something here that will attract sharks which will cause more shark attacks and cause the loss of lives\ limbs.

The planned Tuna Swim Aquaculture is not only out of character with the current Tourist activities, it will actively and significantly hurt the current Tourist activities putting them at risk.

Farmed fish is sometimes sustainable but Tuna need a lot of wild catch to feed them as they are high on the fish food chain. Definitely shouldn't encourage swimming with them.

Environmentally stupid. Shark scare factor alone will negatively impact on ocean recreational use. I have NOT met a SINGLE PERSON who thinks this is a good idea. The sly way this project has even got to this stage of proposal smacks of something "fishy". Dare I say corrupt!

fish food+ fish excrement=high nutrient load= increase in algal growth= death of sea grass around the granite island = the destruction of a whole habitat. Yep! Good Idea, let's have a fish farm! Seriously!! Who in council are these developers friends of?

Bad idea for beloved Victor, "Swim with the Tuna" sounds a bit fishy!
