No way should tuna be penned for profit by operators who do not care about the consequences . Shark attraction being only one negative.

The tuna cage would be a disaster for Victor. It's disgraceful.

This is a crazy idea with how popular our beaches are, as for the developer saying there is no proof a tuna cage will attract sharks, of course he is going to say that, but any one with half a brain knows it will, it will be a great big burley bucket!

This is absolutely insane. We have three children that enjoy surfing along the coast line who are now more at risk. Not only is this a shark attracting device it is also an animal welfare issue with the blue fin tuna being kept in a cage and starving so that they come up to the idiots who want to swim with these wild animals. It is planned to be to close to the shore, it is environmentally wrong having so many fish in one area. It took us over 6 months to get our very simple house extension through the council and this ethically wrong tuna cage is let to go through in 6 weeks.....money talks.....

I do not want tuna cages in this area. I fear my surfing lifestyle, my family and my friends lifestyle will be severely disrupted by sharks being attracted to the tuna cage.

This is high risk for safety, environment and lives.
Yes we all know sharks are always in the ocean, but this is the bait to bring them to our shores.

It will essentially be a 12ha burley pot. The feeding of tuna with the fish of choice pilchard will create slicks (burley trails) for miles, attracking sharks & endangering all ocean goers in it's path. You swim/surf in the ocean knowing the risks but to increase them like this is madness.

Leave the area the way it is!
