A negative impact on the perception of Victor/Pt Elliot as safe swimming and surfing destination is likely with flow on effect to the local accommodation, food and tourism industries. The pollution from Tuna excrement is also expected to affect the local beaches.
fish food+ fish excrement=high nutrient load= increase in algal growth= death of sea grass around the granite island = the destruction of a whole habitat. Yep! Good Idea, let's have a fish farm! Seriously!! Who in council are these developers friends of?
This could have a horrific effect on tourism in the local area, a large chunk of the tourist money coming to this area are from surfing and swimming related activities with families, this has the potential to hurt our community on land and in the water.
Research has shown that a tuna farm will attract Sharks and more New Zealand Fur Seals. Then we will be wanting a killing of Sharks who have come to close to beaches and then we will want to kill the seals, when all in all we create the problem.
The waters of Encounter Bay/ Victor Harbor are recognized as a breeding area for the endangered Southern Right Whales. This proposal is potentially detrimental to that. We should be doing everything we can to make it a safer place for the whales to come.
Complete disregard for nature ,water goers and kids and familys
An exclusion zone that cuts into our beautiful beach, fish poo making our waters unsafe and attracting possible sharks. GO BACK YO PORT LINCOLN

Didn't anything get learned at Pt Lincoln with the tuna farms? They know the farms attract sharks and deteriorate the underwater environment in the surrounding area. I didn't agree with it there and I don't for Victor Harbour. I no longer eat tuna.
