We want to bring an end to animals as performers in the circus and educate youngsters of the cruelty that animals are subjected to, having to live in chains and cages, being forced to perform and pose for pictures. We feel that many parents take their children to the circus as amusement but they don't truly understand the implications of their actions, helping to fund and carry on the exploitation of these wild animals. We want animals to be free, even if they are born in captivity and have no chance to make it in the wild they deserve better. Please help us bring and end to this archaic practice.

With all that is being said about the caging of animals...have the McLaren circus not being following, big animals should stay in the wild and not cramped into tiny cages, nor maltreated to get them to do the tricks...just stop it now..
As young ignorant parents with small children, this was something we shamefully did without thinking about the lives these poor creatures lead. I encourage all parents to consider this before taking your children to a circus which has animals.
Animals are NOT entertainment! These are wild animals they belong in the WILD not in cages being shipped from pillar to post as a source of income and greed. Empty the cages, this is an archaic, cruel and inhumane practice and it is a travesty that it is still allowed.
I would go to a circus without animals and never to one that has them. More and more people feel this way so I do not know why some circuses continue with this outdated barbaric practice. Change by not having animals and more people will come to see the circus.
It's abuse, plain and simple. Wild animals locked in cages, dragged around from place to place to perform for humans for money and entertainment? Where did they come from? How were they trained? This is unnatural and cruel
GOD-willing, very soon the very best and enforceable animal welfare laws and regulations shall become prevalent throughout the world. May GOD-ALMIGHTY save animals from the horrors of human induced abuse, cruelty, torture, neglect, and habitat destruction.

In a country where oppression has been an ongoing issue for so many centuries it is beyond belief that any South African can tolerate or condone the caging of any creature. Every animal should be given their dignity and freedom, a basic right that you've strive towards for years.
