Leave the poor birds alone. They are free to live on the coasts without any danger of death. They are great birds and a vital part of sea side life.

Pathetic, cruel idea. Why don't we start culling humans then, who do more harm, instead of animals!!

This is so wrong. These birds have as much, if not more, right to live then we have

Ridiculous. What is wrong with this country - we're not above any living thing, we aren't entitled to live any more than they are.

Im an animal lover, no animal deserves to die just because a small handful of people don't like them.

Seagull's are sentient animals. They are only doing what they can to survive, just like everyone else and every other species of animal. You wouldn't cull a breed of dog that is known for attacking even when there is yet to be death by seagull whereas there is death by dog. Please leave the animals alone.

Let's just cull anything and everything! I really do not know what this country is coming too! Let's cull some members of parliament instead!

There are only 140,000 breeding pairs of Herring Gulls but 64,000,000 people in the UK. It's more likely that people are a nuisance to these beautiful birds. They can live to 30 years, so cutting short their long lives seems particularly cruel. Due to human behaviour their population has halved in the last few decades and if we cull them we could endanger them further. Gulls are synonymous with the seaside. Imagine going to a seaside town and not hearing seagulls call. What kind of miserable person could come up with the idea of culling them?

We've invaded more of their habitats and they only attack when we are close to their babies, no to a cull!!!

Hate gestures towards seagulls spoilt my holiday in Llandudno. I love gulls as much as other creatures.

It's simply wrong to slaughter wildlife.

Don't even think it!!! Do your part on this planet to save lives, not take them needlessly. You should be disgusted and ashamed of yourselves for daring to even contemplate such a horrendous thing.

The way the world is going we will soon not have a living thing, cull this, cull that! Leave our wildlife alone.

I honestly don't mind about the gulls nesting on roof tops I think they are nice animals.
