Gull numbers have declined.They form the wildlife of this country & deserve to be protected.It is through the actions of man (as usual) that have eroded sites for nesting & finding natural sources of food,People need to be more responsible of how they depose of street food & not to feed them.They are intelligent & beautiful birds. It would be a travesty to go to the coast/seaside & not to see their amazing flying skills & hear their calls.
What bird will be next by haters of wildlife on the list to be seen as a pest?

Educate people how to provent nesting safely and not to destroy nest and eggs.we love our gulls,we have to share the the coast not dominate it.

I agree with Andy Pearce, seagulls were here long before we were so it's our fault that they have become aggressive as they probably see us as a threat especially if they have young. As for swooping down and stealing our food, that is also our fault if we flaunt it about in front of them. Culling is the easy way out but not the right way to solve the problem. We humans need educating.

I'm signing this petition as I don't want any harm done to these birds! Pigeons, jackdaws, magpies, rooks and crows can, like gulls, sometimes be a nuisance, but I've never heard of anyone wanting to 'cull these birds'!

Seagulls now come into the towns and cities due to the amount of food that is available to them which is being discarded by humans. So much food wasted and the innocent gulls are being blamed. Wake up people, stop pigging out and wasting food, people in other countries are starving you spoilt greedy bastards. It's all your fault, take the blame. The gulls are clearing up after you. If it wasn't for the gulls the rats would be all over the streets, think about it!

I am totally disgusted that people would even suggest culling these poor birds. We live by the sea, we have seaguls.... deal with it. I enjoyed fish n chips on the kilacourt, Newquay on Wed eve. I sat on the grass in the sunshine and wasn't approached by a single gull. Humans are to blame for them coming into towns and stealing food.

How ridiculous. Seagulls are innocent and a delight to see along the coastlines. People should just stop feeding them. Magnificent birds that need protection

Seagulls are forced to come inland to find food because there is no fish left in the sea which is completely outfished by trawling methods like "pair trawling".
