I do not support this gun legislation, because it’s punishing the whole for the actions of a few mentally I’ll people . There definitely needs to be reform, through the screening process of buying a semiautomatic hand guns , and rifles. Such as a 3 day waiting period as to check for any indication of any mental health hospitalzation , or criminal activity. The way to do this is simple , enforce the laws we have, and increase the metal health care in schools or find a way to facilitate the help the young adults need.

As a member of Delaware L.E.O. I am against any gun ban for the simple fact that it is an infringement of the free people’s constitutional right. The only people this is going to hurt is the law biding citizens. Criminals do not obey the laws so why try to create more laws for them to break?

By disarming law abiding citizens you are giving a free pass to criminals to ramp up home invasions and other crimes due to the fact you want take away the tools we use for protection. I implore you to rescind this legislation and look at other means to deter gun crime. Such as: Stiffer penalties, better security at schools and better utilization of current laws.

Stop trying to infringe on our rights and enforce the laws already set into place Maryland has some of the strictest gun laws and yet there was still a school shooting guns are not the issue it’s the people. People must be held accountable for their actions
