Please don’t restrict the rights of law abiding citizens. We have plenty of current laws, how about we start prosecuting those!

A vote of "NO" is the only correct legal vote on the proposed "Assault Weapons Ban". You can NOT infringe on the Second Amendment.
Yes, something needs to be done about gun crime. Keep in mind, however, it is not the implement that commits the crime. "Assault" is a verb and it is the crime. Punishing those who commit crimes with firearms and enforcing the laws already on the books is the way to go. Directly from the News Journal, "In Delaware, 71% of gun charges are dropped" (The News Journal, Jan 15, 2016).
Also, in the case Caetano v. Massachusetts (2016), The Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment extends to all forms of bearable arms: "The Court has held that the Second Amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding, and that this Second Amendment right is fully applicable to the States."

Banning weapons from law abiding citizens will only ensure that criminals are the only people that will have them. The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

The weapons are not the problems as you seen in these school shootings it’s been underage people who shouldn’t have guns in the first place. Banning guns is not the answer. Holding these people more accountable and finding the source on how they are getting these guns is the problem.

Taking away the rights of law abiding citizens will not save lives. Criminals do not obey laws. Murder is already illegal and yet criminals still kill. If you want to save lives look to other avenues to do it that wont step on the constitutional rights of the citizens.

Enforce the 24 year old already existing Brady act and NICS system. Punish those who break our gun laws and are arrested and charged with “possession of a firearm by a person prohibited” instead of letting them post $1500 unsecured bond and releasing them.
Stop using nearly 3/4 of our broken gun laws as bargaining chips for plea deals.
Our laws need enforcing, not more laws on the respecting.

I am a law abiding citizen that has done nothing wrong to have my rights stripped. I am not willing to sit by and watch this happen as you the politicians fail to address the real reasons for this problem and choose to over look the blatant failures that caused these issue perpetrated by federal, state and local agencies. The problem will not be cured if the cause for s not addressed.
