let the fourth graders be the kings of the hill next year at their elementry school. They have no business in middle school yet. Developmentally a change like this can be devistating to these little ones.

Society and media are doing enough damage to our youth encouraging them to grow up at an accelerated pace. Can we at least count on our schools to provide an appropriate education that is not only academically, but also socially and emotionally sound?

I truly believe that kids are too young to be going to elementary school in fifth grade. Kids grow up to early as it is! Let the kids be kids as long as they can! I am totally opposed to this and will be attending the meetings with respect to this issue.

Moving 5th grade into the middle school would be unwise and premature this year, and likely ill-advised at any time. We need an open and reasonable discussion of what advantages this proposal has, with a detailed and well-documented assessment of how this will impact our children.

This doesn't sound like it would be beneficial to the child. Is there anything to suggest it would be, especially given the other two succesful neighboring school districts don't appear to be following this model? I'm very happy with the quality of education and environment given to my children at the elementary school level, let the children get bigger before attempting this or help parents understand just how this is going to help the child.

That is crazy. 5th grade should not be included in middle school. That is a very big age gap and the kids are not ready for that.

I understand a districts need to make financial decisions that may be difficult, but appropriately educating young children needs to be first priority. Pulling this off requires strong capable leadership in the middle schools.

I am highly against moving 5th grade to Middle Schools. I am also highly against closing Miller. I think it is time for a complete new board.

Another example of how schools viewed through the business model. School boards often rave about doing what's best for the kid's sake, this will not be.

I not only believe that the 5th grade should not be in the middle school, I feel the 6th grade is not ready for middle school either.
