An unnecessary riad built through a cul de sac will result in injury to children or worse. Of no benefit to residents living in the two adjoining areas.

I am strongly against this through road. I feel that it would be a danger to any young children in what was once a safe place for them to play. I see no reason for the road to open up between 3 estates . It will only be of benefit to people who want to cut through it and for those who will no doubt use it as a race track. I feel that the people of The Meadows, Ashdale and Castle Avenue need to stand up against this.

If this through road goes ahead it will put children playing in the streets lives at Risk with the extra traffic it will put through the area

Stupid idea to allow this through road. Concil need to a knowledge residents concerns that this road is an accident waiting to happen. Hopefully it won't come to a child being hurt or killed before they take any action.

I am extremely concerned about this and have already raised this with councillor roisin Lynch and Brian Duffy . We had a meeting in my house last Monday night and roisin is arranging a meeting now with 2 representatives from the meadows and all the relevant parties who have a say in the roads (e.g. Reps from dept of infrastructure ). Dept of infrastructure and the planning dept are aware of the concerns of the residents . I will post updates on this site as things develop.

I would be greatlty concerned for the safety of the children playing out on their streets should this through road be opened.

Due to traffic build up on main road... opening up a through road through the estates would very quickly become a main road.... this will definitely increase the risk to our children playing in this area.... open a cycle/ walkway between the estates but not a road... our kids safety needs protecting....

My young nephews and niece live in this area. They, along with their friends play in front of their house. A through road would create alot more traffic therefor would most definitely raise the potential risk of them or other children getting seriously hurt or worse.
