I have lived in Richmond for most of the past 43 years. The increase in aircraft noise, smell and nuisance has already become intolerable. The expansion of Heathrow will blight the lives of millions of people. I have also been a supporter of the Estuary option since the Roskill Commission in 1971. Expanding Heathrow will not be the long term answer that BAA claim.

The air and noise pollution is too much to take at the moment. The area would become unihabitable

To the West of a city, instead of North or South, the airport is badly located and should not be expanded. The noise pollution is already excessive. It can be depressing at times and the idea of it becoming worse is, well, you can probably tell how bad from the number of people who are asking for it not to happen.

I have put up with noise from Heathrow for 45 years and when each enlargement happens we are told it is the last. But here they are again wanting to wreck more countryside, destroy more wildlife habitat and ruin more human lives! It is not necessary - STOP IT NOW.

I feel it is big enough and planes go over enough houses and would be too dangerous and unpleasant for all who live in West London

Any more noise in and around Heathrow...especially if flights are more frequent or at night is unacceptable! It makes life a misery!

The residents of West London do not need any more air traffic - there is too much already with the horrid noise and pollution plus all the extra traffic to and from LHR!

Any expansion on Heathrow would cause major disruption to an already overcrowded area. The road network can not take any more airport traffic and the building of such would cause absolute chaos. Not to mention the safety issues of more pollution, more cars, more coaches, more goods lorries and vans, more people and planes, trains and buses in and out of the area. Statistically, more traffic of amy kind means more accidents. It took me THREE hours yesterday to get home from Maidenhead to Brentford, an hour of which was travelling alongside Heathrow Airrport itself - a journey whiich normally takes 30 minutes on the M4. This hold up was because of just ONE accident. With more planes, trains, buses, cars and people being brought into the area with the kind of expansion being planned, the roads will be gridlocked at the best of times, not accounting for any accidents which as I say statistically there will be more of. Heathrow is already situated in an extremely vulnerable place so close to houses, shops and schools. Not so long ago a plane landed in the field next to the school I was working in because it overshot the runway. Shouldn't lessons be learnt from that incidient? That to me - and for those children - was too close for comfort. When accidents happen should this expansion go ahead, which they are bound to, who will hold their hands up and take responsibility? Will the Prime Minister?? ..

The expansion of Heathrow to its present size and importance has been a sleep walk into disaster. We must finally wake up to its idiotic location and liberate the site for much more beneficial economic and social developments. Please reject the ridiculous plan for further lunatic expansion.up and

Heathrow's hub business is about 60% of its total business. Why not divert some or all of its non-hub business to an expanded Gatwick that is eager for a second runway of its own?
I do not support the Heathrow expansion.
