Already the noise, the pollution and the traffic congestion around Hammersmith & the M4 are totally unacceptable. Another runway would make an intolerable situation even worse.

Increase in air pollution from the planes and the extra car journeys will seriously damage our lungs, and those of the children.

They can't meet the air pollution limits now so how will they do it with a 3rd runway?

The air and noise pollution from Heathrow is already serious for West London. A third runway will blight many more people's lives.

Berkshire (Wargrave) based and daily plane noise is getting worse and worse, a 3rd runway would make it even more unbearable. Alternatives are available and if there was a compelling European rail service that would reduce flights by whole factors of %ages as people switch to rail with no security hassle.

Having been for a few times in the nearby areas, Hounslow, Longford, Cranford, it is not hard to imaging the huge environmental impact a third runway would have in the local and west London communities in general. A third runway will destroy the green-belt in west london and will create a monstrous environmentally-impacted area with noise and pollution problems that would extend from Fulham to Winsdor. Aviation authorities should be focus on either expand surrounding airports like Gatwick or Standsted, or start seriously planning for a new airport far away enough from residential areas. Thames estuary might be a good location, but I'm not a subject matter expert. You don't have to be an expert though to realize what would a third runway create in west London communities.

I know there is no need for an expansion to Heathrow Airport. I now use Gatwick Airport to fly to any destination. I add an extra amount of time to get to Gatwick Airport. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and I find the journey on the flights extremely comfortable also the cabin crew are wonderful. My all travel using Gatwick Airport and if people just used a little time needed their journey will be just as convenient and comfortable. Fly by Gatwick, save our villages, keep the green side up.

I believe if financial incentives and penalties are used more proactively, the current infrastructure could increase capacity significantly. This would include embracing technological developments, airline collaboration & development of larger, quiter and fuel efficient planes. Business travel could be reduced, especially private jet use.
