building on past mistakes is not the answer. Heathrow needs to go and a new hub airport built somewhere more appropriate.

Heathrow airport is already too big for an airport within such close proximity to London and the congested South East, adversely affecting the quality of life of many thousands of people living under the flightpath, and posing risks to safety from overflying aircraft and terrorist attack.. I would like to see an acceptance that we are a small country and cannot always compete on size with bigger players, but we can ensure that what we do, we do very well: so ensuring Hathrow functions as effectively and efficiently as it can within the physical constraints, improving links to Regional airports, and putting more resources into Regional airports as necessary to help their optimum operation.

Too many people suffering too much noise without 3rd runway. And it's time Sipson etc. stopped being blighted by the threat of demolition.

Heathrow was a planning error that blights the lives of enormous numbers of people already. It would be far preferable to recommend contraction of the airport rather than expansion.

We do not need another runway at Heathrow. The noise and pollution for residents under the flight path is unacceptable

Heathrow & other agencies, + local communities need to set an auditing task to see how many partially filled planes a nd uneconomic routes could be cancelled before thinking of any further expansion.

We expect the government to honour its election mandate that there will be no further expansion of Heathrow. Apart from the noise and pollution problem caused by the ever increasing number of flights in and out of Heathrow there is also the increasing contribution of expanding air traffic to the problem of climate change.

What gives anyone the right to inflict this level of noise - with all the proven health risks (BMJ Oct 2013) - on almost a million people?

Heathrow expansion increases flight noise that is already very disruptive. The government should look into alternatives to flying, especially for shorthaul flights. Building an additional airport in the Thames estuary is not the answer to the problem either as it will cost millions and take years. Increasing flight volumes also contribute to the greenhouse effect - more floods to come.

If there were fewer short haul flights and less half empty planes flying there would be more than enough slots for far away places.
