I am astounded to hear that Heathrow expansion is even being considered. It is unbelievable that planes continue to overfly London as they do. Intolerable.

How are we to meet our carbon emission targets with even more flights to and from the UK. Enough already!

Even if HS2 serves Heathrow there would still be a problem in getting to and from London Heathrow by rail or road and this has been so often overlooked.

It is not only a matter of noise but the mistaken belief in unrelenting economic and population growth no matter what the human and environmental outcomes and costs. Why have we forgotten that small is beautiful!

Heathrow is not a suitable venue for increased expansion and some day we are going to have to accept that unlimited expansion is not an option. Once a third runway is built the fourth and successive runways will not be far behind and we will all be told that it is "essential" to expand Heathrow. This is nonsense. No one would now chose to build a major airport at Heathrow given the population density in the area. Of course there are alternatives and we should be creative to look deeply at how best to choose.

Heathrow is cramped, poorly laid out and located in the wrong place. It is a typical British example of patch, mend and make do which is not fit for purpose and certainly not fit for expansion with all the damage that will entail to the surrounding overcrowded environment. This is a classic case where a government, whatever its political colour, has to make a statement investment in the future. It is in the same category as HS2 and nuclear power stations. A new airport with associated transport infrastructure is what is needed for the 21st century.

There is so much noise already that we can't sleep with windows open which is especially difficult in the Summer. We live in a beautiful area that will be spoilt if the noise increases. We cannot sit in the garden when the planes fly over as the conversation has to stop, we even have to turn up the radio or TV when we are inside if the windows are even a little open. There are other options. I would never recommend anyone to live in this ears if the noise increases and we will move out of the area. House prices will drop and stress levels will rise

Our aviation infrastructure needs to be world class. Heathrow is not world class and short term fixes are not appropriate. A total ambitious re-think is needed, UK PLC is worth it.

A third runway means a great loss of homes, trees and parks, businesses and it will definitely create traffic, chaos, pollution, and maybe many other problems

A 3rd runway at Heathrow would cause unacceptable noise pollution for millions of people in this densely populated part of the country.

Heathrow should not be expanded, as that simply compunds the mistakes of the original appalling planning decison.
