Barrhaven is not close to any service ontario or service canada locations. The public transit in our community is one of the worst in the city. If you want to set these people up for success make sure they have easy access to necessities.

There are too many people in Barrhaven, this new plan will bring more issues to us.

I suggest not to build the shelter. Fist of all think about the area that you guys building in, it’s not just neighbourhoods, there are also schools nearby. It affect our life safety as the people are coming could be dangerous.

Sprung housing is not adaptable for new comers who need their own family privacy, not side by side with strangers.

Has the council completed a full impact study on this proposal? If Jan Harder was still in council she would say no and so do I.

Can it be build special area?

My husband and I, like most other residents are against bringing the downtown homelessness into our community. Is this what we have to look forward to? Thefts, open drug use (needles) for all to see, especially our kids? The people that are expected to come to Barrhaven to be housed in a tent structure, how many are mentally unstable people who will not get the proper care? Do you think it's a good idea that they're just wondering around our streets and parks? Without resources for them? The resources for the newcomers who arrived in Barrhaven already are stretched to the max as it is. Where do you think the homeless will hang all day and night? Surely they'll be free to do as they please. Will they have a curfew? Do you think they'll sit in a tent with no windows all day? They will roam the streets. Pandhandling on the streets and shopping centers. I wonder how many will be aggressive? The drug deals. The young men are vulnerable and will hook up with the gangs that are already here ready to recruit the wayward young men in need of quick cash. In case you haven't noticed, the tagging on Barrhaven's park benches and city fences are not just kids who found spraypaint in their daddy's garage. They're gang tags. Why ruin Barrhaven further when so many were invited here for a new life? The homeless will not have jobs, they're addicts. They are not given proper rehabilitation. Why dump them in the suburb with no plans to help them move forward in life? To get well? Long time tax paying citizens deserve better. The homeless deserve better. There must be another approach to help these people and examine what will be conducive to residents and the homeless alike. Thank you for your attention. Please rethink what's best for all involved.

We don't need such thing in our neibourhood that is already enough crowded and well established. In the city of Ottawa there are plenty of other spots much more suitable for that. As of my knowledge the previous plan for this spot was that a Church would be built, I will support in a 100% an idea for building a Church.

And I don't want to live in fear for myself and my loved ones. You can adapt them to Canadian culture in other places where they can work, pass laws and see other women and children without attacking them: for example, various farms, even the city of Timmins, put them there where they can really be good enough.

This process has been too hastily decided without the proper consultation of all relevant parties - most importantly the residents of Barrhaven. The land should be used to provide Canadians, from first-time home buyers to newly arrived Canadians, a place to call home and not for a temporary tent facility. Let’s not rush into this in the manner that Ottawa tends to favour - without thinking of the consequences or solutions prior to acting.

Agree those people need help but baarhaven is the wrong location. It is already struggling with green bank traffic issues. New developments lack infrastructure big time. So most certainly can not handle anything like that at all

I urge the City to reconsider this proposal and work towards a more suitable and permanent solution in a better-suited area.
