Who's stupid idea was it to put a shelter there? Obviously who ever thoght that is a good location for a shelter doesn't live in that area. I suggest that whoever thinks it's a good location for a shelter or supports that location that you build your shelter across the street from where you live! This is a family community with thousands of children that live and go to schools that are very close by. The area that you are considering has a walking path right there that everyone uses everyday including lots of kids! The area is right beside a train track which is to noisy for anyone to sleep. The area is extremely busy with traffic. A cyclclist was killed a few years back right on the corner or Greenbank and Highbury Park. I live very close to Highbury park which is on the other side of where the shelter is being considered and this summer we had a heroin addict living in the park where our children play. I've seen more people begging for money in the area in the last few years at dangerous intersections with lots of traffic and in the shopping plazas. So think about how 150 asylum seekers or homeless people would affect the surrounding community and safety of our families and kids! There are huge safety concerns with having a shelter at the Highbury park location. Most people that moved to Barrhave moved there for a reason to live in a safe family oriented safe community where are kids will be safe from what you are considering. Why would you make this problem our problem? This is not why we moved to Barrhaven. I support a shelter for asylum seekers, refugees and homeless but not in this area. The Nepean Woods Park and Ride is a b

I do not support having the proposed Tents in Barrhaven. There is a better location along Slack Road between Woodroffe and Merrivale Road.

There is really concern for safety given the already packed Barrhaven. It is a family oriented neighborhood and can’t imagine with too many single males settled here. I am really concerned with the kids’ safety

This doesn’t feel like an environmentally sound solution. Particularly while Ottawa is in a state of climate emergency
