ABSOLUTELY NOT. If a tent is a solution for housing refugees flown across the world, they ought to be elsewhere where there are resources by and for them, in their home regions. The un-housed? How about mental institutions, where they often belong.

Barrhaven is already over saturated and one of the fastest growing neighborhoods, this will not be beneficial to either the community nor any seeking asylum. The shelters should be set up in locations where there is a possibility to establish themselves more permanently. Anywhere in the Ottawa region is already too expensive for most Canadians; how would anybody survive with the price of living, and shortage of houses?
I don’t know how this option is even considered at all as it has no benefits to anyone!

I feel like there was no thought put into this idea. Open up a line of communication and let everyone come up with other ideas first.
Let the community band together…there are many brilliant and caring g people out there.

Barrhaven is known as a family neighborhood and it is bursting in population with young families with little infrastructure. The transit system and other infrastructures are already pressured. Bringing this to Barrhaven is like robbing Peter to pay Paul. It’s a bad deal for both residents of Barrhaven and the refugees.

These aren’t refugees feeling war. They are illegal migrants who shouldn’t have been let into this country. I can’t just pack up my bags and move to another country. Obviously to say, this does not make me racist or against LEGAL immigration in any way.

Illegal migrants should be dealt with by the federal government not city resources. I didn’t ask to take care of the Middle East so why is my tax dollars paying to bring people here from around the world. Canada and Canadians have no charity left to give.
